Hexagram Toolkit

A Hexagram can relate to others through each changing line. There is a corresping line in the inverted hexagram (usually the other in the Pair). And of course there is the hexagram it changes into (marked zhi here). Inverting the zhi hexagram produces the same line pattern as changing the corresponding line in the inversion.

In this way, corresponding lines in each of the four hexagrams make a line pathway. This page allows you to explore the line pathways for hexagrams with one or more changing lines.

First click on the Hexagram lines in the box to the right, to make the primary hexagram. Then check (tick) the Change lines. Finally choose the Line you are interested in. Choosing a changed line shows that line pathway. Choose any non-changing line to deselect. This shows the primary hexagram alongside its pair (not always the same as the inverse).

If you are still using Internet Explorer "because it came with the computer", try some of the others. Competitors only survive if they are better than the de facto standard. So they must be improvements on Internet Explorer, mustn't they?
